I am a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. I work with Professor Matt Lease in the AI and Human-Centered Computing Lab and as part of the UT Austin NLP community.

My research broadly examines how social science informs the design and evaluation of AI systems, and the societal implications of their real-world applications. My work involves integrating social and linguistic insights to build more equitable NLP systems, leveraging these systems to better understand human behavior, evaluating them from a societal perspective, and exploring how they can be pluralistically aligned with diverse human values and opinions.

I received my Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Cognitive Science and Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Michigan (go blue!). During this time, I worked with Professor Rada Mihalcea as part of the LIT lab.

I’ve previously helped out with GRACS (Graduate Representative Association of CS) and GWGMC (Graduate Women & Gender Minorities in Computing) at UT.
